Controversies with democratic reformism
Keywords:
Raimundo Santos, Brazilian social thought, democratic reformism, leftAbstract
The article is in honor of Raimundo Santos, professor and researcher who dedicated himself to the history of ideas and to Brazilian social thought, with the aim of understanding the relationship between democracy and social changes. The agrarian question, the role of the left in the 20th century and politics were among his preferred subjects. Raimundo stood out in the Brazilian intellectual scene for addressing such phenomena from the point of view of the democratic reformism. For this reason, besides being a tribute to him, the article equally addresses the controversies of democratic reformism with the left.
