The town of Itaituba in the Tapajós region of Pará state currently has several bulk grain ports used for transshipment of soybeans produced in Mato Grosso state that stop in ports in Pará and Amapá before export to the international market. This study analyzes the occupational dynamics for agribusiness port logistics and territorial and socioeconomic repercussions in Itaituba. The study was qualitative and quantitative and involved bibliographic and documental surveys, fieldwork and photographic records. The main findings indicate that up to the 1970s, Itaituba was dependent on the Tapajós River and rubber production, a situation that changed with the creation of the Transamazonian highway in the 1970s and establishment of five soy transshipment stations in the Miritituba district from 2014, an event with profound territorial and socioeconomic impacts.
