Mercados convencionais e/ou novos mercados - haveria um dilema nas estratégias produtivas dos agricultores familiares? O caso de Praia Grande/SC.
Abstract
Este artigo aborda as estratégias de produção dos agricultores familiares do município de Praia Grande, região do Extremo-Sul Catarinense, com o enfoque nas escolhas entre a “esteira” dos mercados convencionais, a partir da produção de commodities, como o arroz, e/ou a inserção em novos mercados, como, por exemplo, a produção agroecológica. O estudo foi desenvolvido a partir de dados secundários, entrevistas semi-estruturadas e em profundidade nos anos de 2010 e 2011 e uma última etapa em 2014. Os resultados não comprovaram de forma evidente o dilema nas decisões de produções dos agricultores pesquisados. Entretanto, há indícios que podem indicar a problemática levantada, demonstrada pela busca de alternativas, as quais são configuradas pela criação de nested markets (capitaneadas por uma associação de agricultores ecológicos); pelo crescimento da pluriatividade; e pelo êxodo seletivo da população rural jovem.
