The election of Jair Bolsonaro to the presidency of the Republic led significant fractions of agribusiness to compose his power bloc, suggesting an important change in the shaping of internal hegemony of the sector. We seek to argue that it is the position occupied by the national economy in the new global capital structure that gives the sector a permanent place in the power bloc in contemporary times. At the same time, it is the internal political conditions of the class struggle that gives rise to the forces that drive agribusiness under certain historical circumstances, operating the sector's political-institutional management from the state. Our analysis is based on conjuncture analysis as a type of interdisciplinary investigation that aims at identifying trends and forces operating in society, articulated with historical-critical analysis. With this, we aim to indicate which are the political forces of this sector that are affirmed in Bolsonaro´s government, as well as its programmatic agenda.
Keywords: Bolsonaro government; agribusiness; rural employers; the new management of capital in the countryside.
