Abstract

Agriculture suffers from economic, social, political and technological changes, such as those that influence Rural Organizations. In this sense, Rural Condominiums are gaining prominence. The objective of this paper is to analyze the international publication record on Rural Condominiums. For this purpose, a systematic literature review of the international literature was carried out, based on the protocol of Cronin, Ryan and Coughlan (2008) over a period of 30 years. The results indicate that the international literature on Rural Condominiums is restricted and scarce, which evidences research gaps. Among the sub-themes identified in the international literature, the Rural Condominiums show diversity among agricultural activities, sustainable character, cost-saving, large-scale production, price bargaining and work optimization, as well as progress towards other rural activities and studies on networks and governance. In addition, there is a greater concentration of Rural Condominiums in Paraná, Brazil, and that the political-economic conjuncture of each region can help with the development of new Condominiums, which are relevant for growth and competitiveness in Agribusiness. This work contributes to a scarce literature and suggests perspectives for the development of new research on Rural Condominiums.
Keywords: Rural Condominiuns; systematic review of international literature; agribusiness.
