Extrativismo e produção de alimentos: Belém e o “núcleo subsidiário” de Marajó, 1850/1920
Abstract
Este artigo procura mostrar como a economia da borracha no Estado do Pará não estruturou um sistema econômico integrado. Examinando os Relatórios dos Presidentes de Província e Governadores de Estado no período de 1850-1920, a autora retrata o caráter expansivo da atividade de exportação – expresso no esplendor cultural e centralidade comercial de Belém –, fazendo o contraponto com a crise estrutural do abastecimento de alimentos da capital paraense.
