Concessão de terras, dívida colonial e mobilidade
Abstract
Este artigo analisa a sistemática da concessão de terras públicas a colonos de origem européia, na fase final dos assentamentos ocorridos no Vale do Itajaí-mirim, após a criação do município de Brusque em 1881 – uma região oficial de colonização administrada pelo Estado de Santa Catarina desde 1860. Focaliza as práticas de ocupação de lotes utilizadas pelos colonos, consideradas ilegais pelas autoridades porque contrariavam o modelo de colonização idealizado pelo Estado, configurando uma situação de constantes deslocamentos. O artigo contribui para o entendimento da mobilidade camponesa no sul do Brasil – no contexto do processo histórico de imigração e colonização.
