Testando as relações entre as carências sociais nos espaços rurais
Abstract
O objetivo deste trabalho é identificar a existência de relações entre privações sociais em ambientes rurais. A abordagem utilizada se remete à técnica de redes bayesianas, que busca mensurar a relação de dependência condicional para um conjunto de variáveis aleatórias. A base de dados exprime um conjunto de carências observadas na zona rural dos municípios brasileiros, quais sejam: renda, saúde, educação e habitação. Tais informações foram extraídas do Censo de 2010 elaborado pelo IBGE e correspondem aos 5.565 municípios brasileiros. Os resultados apontam para algumas relações entre as privações. Entre todas as interações observadas, a educação é única entre as medidas de pobreza que foi influenciada pelas demais, enquanto as condições de saúde também podem ser explicadas pelas dificuldades monetárias e pela precariedade das condições de moradia. Por fim, observa-se que as pobrezas de natureza monetária e habitacional não reagem às condições de saúde e educação presentes nos ambientes rurais.
