A percepção pública de risco alimentar e os organismos geneticamente modificados no Brasil
Abstract
O artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa empírica realizada em 2011, avaliando a percepção de 827 consumidores brasileiros sobre os organismos geneticamente modificados (OGMs) e seus riscos. Os entrevistados foram indagados a respeito dos critérios utilizados para escolherem o seu alimento; a confiança nos órgãos governamentais que atestam sua segurança/qualidade; e os medos relacionados à alimentação, além de mencionarem o seu conhecimento sobre os transgênicos e a propensão a consumi-los. Os resultados mostraram que a maioria dos respondentes sabia o que são transgênicos, bem como estavam dispostos a consumi-los. Além disso, declararam-se mais preocupados com os riscos relacionados ao uso de agrotóxicos e com as características nutricionais dos alimentos do que com o fato de serem provenientes da engenharia genética.Downloads
