Política agrária e conservação da biodiversidade no Brasil
Abstract
Este ensaio discute a complexa relação entre questão agrária e a conservação da biodiversidade, mostrando que os maiores dissensos surgiram com o modelo produtivista dominante da “revolução verde”. Argumenta que a eficiência produtivista não impede a “tragédia dos não comuns” ambiental e social, dando espaço político às propostas de reforma agrária, consolidando a agricultura familiar e abrindo caminho para a reconversão agroecológica. Esta reconversão, no entanto, esbarra no alto custo de transição e carência de esforço científico. A novidade potencialmente favorável é a política de pagamento por serviços ambientais para viabilizar esta transição.
