Agricultura familiar, desenvolvimento rural e formação dos municípios do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul
Abstract
No artigo procurou-se explorar a hipótese de que a distribuição geográfica dos municípios no Rio Grande do Sul reflete, em grande parte, a história do seu desenvolvimento rural. Para tanto, realiza-se uma revisão da literatura sobre a relação entre as atividades agropecuárias, o desenvolvimento rural e o processo de urbanização do Estado, ilustrada por mapas da sua malha urbana elaborados originalmente pelo Instituto Gaúcho de Reforma Agrária. As análises efetuadas indicam que o desenvolvimento rural do interior do Estado foi muito mais dinâmico nas regiões onde historicamente prevaleceu a agricultura familiar.Downloads
