Zé Pureza e a reforma agrária no Rio de Janeiro do pré-64
Abstract
O artigo descreve e analisa os principais eventos da trajetória de José Pureza da Silva, militante do Partido Comunista Brasileiro (PCB) que, em 1947, iniciou a organização de posseiros em defesa dos seus direitos, no município de Duque de Caxias. Ao longo da década de 1950, seu trabalho se estendeu por todo o estado do Rio de Janeiro, por meio da fundação de várias associações de lavradores, até que, em 1959, essas entidades se estruturaram na Federação das Associações de Lavradores do estado do Rio de Janeiro (Falerj), entidade que apoiou ocupações de terra no início dos anos 1960. O texto realça particularmente a ocupação do Imbé, em 1963, que constitui um marco na luta pela reforma agrária no país.
