Del estatismo al libre comercio: los dilemas del sector agrícola en México
Abstract
Durante los años noventa el agro mexicano sufrió un abrupto cambio de rumbos: de haber sido hasta entonces uno de los sectores con mayor intervención estatal, hoy ha sido abierto a las fuerzas del mercado y la globalización, resultado de lo cual es su integración al Tratado de Libre Comercio. Este cambio se dio en forma apresurada y anárquica, no habiendo sido acompañado de políticas reconstructivas, que permitieran una transición más eficaz y menos costosa al nuevo modelo. El presente artículo analiza con profundidad dicho proceso, poniendo énfasis en sus efectos desintegradores sobre las estructuras productivas y sociales. Asimismo apunta cómo los productores han respondido al cambio, ya sea a través de estrategias alternativas de reproducción o de actitudes de fuerte confrontación en contra de las instancias estatales encargadas de las nuevas políticas.Downloads
